NIPR Expands Reputation Management Advisory Board with Industry Titans Fadolapo and Bayo-Ajayi

In a bold move to elevate Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reinforced its Nigeria Reputation Management Advisory Board (NRMB) with two leading voices in the communications and marketing landscape: Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). Their induction coincided with the first day of the inaugural Nigeria Reputation Summit 2026, held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The summit, themed “The Power of Youth, Technology and Creativity in Rebuilding Nigeria’s Reputation,” brings together communications experts to craft actionable strategies aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s image both locally and internationally.

NRMB, the advisory body tasked with shaping coherent narratives and fostering trust in Nigeria’s public and private institutions, stands as one of NIPR’s most ambitious initiatives since its founding. The board was established following recommendations from NIPR’s 2022 Citizens Summit for National Integration, Peace and Security, which called for a dedicated corporate body to manage Nigeria’s reputation strategically.

Founded in 1963, NIPR became a Chartered Institute in 1990 through Decree No. 16 (now CAP N114, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004). The Institute regulates the practice of public relations in Nigeria, sets professional standards, monitors conduct through its Code of Ethics, and ensures members meet the required academic and professional qualifications. It operates under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

The expansion of NRMB also reinforces a prior collaboration between ARCON, NIMN, and NIPR, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding to drive industry growth and strengthen cross-sector partnerships.
