WOHAN Spreads Christmas Cheer with Humanitarian Visit to Yaba Old People’s Home
In the true spirit of Christmas and community service, members of Women in Out-of-Home Advertising Business (WOHAN) paid a courtesy and humanitarian visit to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos, reaffirming the association’s commitment to compassion, care for the elderly, and social responsibility.
The WOHAN delegation was warmly received by a dedicated caregiver at the facility, who led the team on a guided tour of the home. The tour offered insights into the residents’ daily routines, welfare needs, and living conditions, while also highlighting the admirable dedication and compassion with which the caregivers attend to the elderly.
Beyond the tour, the visit came alive with heartfelt interactions between WOHAN members and the residents. Songs, shared laughter, words of encouragement, and moments of bonding filled the atmosphere, creating an emotionally uplifting experience for both the elderly citizens and the visiting team.
As part of the outreach, WOHAN made substantial donations to enhance the comfort and well-being of the residents. The items included fruits, foodstuffs, a 250-litre deep freezer, Wi-Fi support, adult diapers, toiletries, a fully refilled 25kg gas cylinder, and other essential household items identified by the facility’s management.
The visit proved deeply impactful and fulfilling, underscoring WOHAN’s mission of service, empathy, and meaningful community engagement. The smiles, prayers, and expressions of gratitude from the residents served as a poignant reminder of the importance of caring for and honouring senior citizens in society.
Speaking at the event, WOHAN Coordinator, Mrs Adeola Odesanya, reiterated the association’s unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, noting that WOHAN will continue to seek opportunities to make lasting and meaningful contributions to community development.
