A distinguished scholar and Professor of Marketing at the Lagos Business School (LBS), Professor Uzo has dedicated over two decades to PAU, holding key leadership roles including Faculty Director, Director of MBA Programmes, and member of the University Senate. He is widely recognized as one of Africa’s leading experts in retail and consumer behaviour, an award-winning educator, and a driving force behind PAU’s academic growth.

Professor Uzo joined Lagos Business School in February 2002. He holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Sociology from the University of Lagos, and a Masters of Research in Management as well as a PhD in Management from IESE Business School, Barcelona. His academic influence extends globally, having served as a Research Fellow of the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (SCANCOR) and the American Marketing Association, and as a visiting research scholar at Stanford University, USA.

At LBS, Professor Uzo has shaped the careers of over 1,000 senior managers in Nigeria through his teaching in Marketing Management, Personal Selling, and Sales & Channel Management. He has also instructed executives and CEOs at IESE Business School, sharing insights on managerial and leadership competencies.

His research and consulting work spans multiple industries, focusing on indigenous sales and marketing strategies, retailing, and consumer behaviour trends in Africa. He serves on the boards of companies in the retail and sports entertainment sectors. His scholarly contributions have been published in leading journals, including the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. He has authored award-winning teaching cases, including recognition in the 2013 EFMD Case Writing Competition and the 2017 Emerald/AABS Case Study Competition, and received the Excellence Award for Entrepreneurial Education (2016) and the Exemplary Leadership Award (2017).

Beyond research and teaching, Professor Uzo recently edited a book on Indigenous Management Practices in Africa and maintains an active presence as a blogger, further demonstrating his commitment to knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
