MIPAN AGM to Spotlight New Opportunities for Media Growth

As technology, artificial intelligence and shifting consumer behaviour continue to disrupt traditional media business models, the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) is set to bring industry stakeholders together to explore new opportunities for sustainable growth.

The association will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, August 14, at Ogere Resort, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, under the theme, “Monetizing Tomorrow: Outpacing Disruption, Capturing Growth in the Next Era of Media.”

The theme comes at a time when the media ecosystem is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by the rise of artificial intelligence, data-driven marketing, digital platforms, fragmented audiences and changing patterns of media consumption.

For media practitioners and businesses, the shifts are creating both significant challenges and new opportunities, requiring a rethink of how media is planned, bought, measured, monetised and delivered to audiences.

The MIPAN AGM is therefore expected to move beyond the association’s statutory business to examine some of the critical issues shaping the future of Nigeria’s media industry.

Discussions are expected to focus on emerging revenue opportunities, media effectiveness, audience measurement, technological disruption, innovation and strategies for building resilient media businesses in an increasingly competitive and fragmented marketplace.

The meeting will also provide a platform for media independent agencies, advertisers, media owners, technology partners and other industry stakeholders to exchange perspectives on how practitioners can remain relevant and competitive as the boundaries between traditional, digital and technology-driven media continue to blur.

With consumer behaviour evolving rapidly, industry players are increasingly under pressure to demonstrate greater value, improve measurement and harness technology to deliver more effective connections between brands and their audiences.

Participants at the AGM are expected to explore how strategic partnerships, emerging technologies, data and innovation can be leveraged to unlock new growth opportunities while strengthening the overall media ecosystem.

The annual gathering remains one of MIPAN’s key industry engagements, providing members and stakeholders with an opportunity to review the association’s activities, deliberate on prevailing challenges and shape its priorities for the year ahead.

This year’s edition is expected to reinforce MIPAN’s focus on collaboration, professional excellence and innovation, while equipping practitioners to navigate and capitalize on the next phase of media transformation.

With the industry increasingly shifting from simply buying audiences to creating measurable value from data, technology and consumer attention, the conversations at the AGM could offer important insights into what it will take to monetise tomorrow’s media opportunities today.
