LASCOPA to Host Fourth Lagos Food Safety Conference
The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) will convene policymakers, regulators, researchers, industry professionals and consumers at the Fourth Lagos State Food Safety Conference and Exhibition on September 8, 2026.
The conference, scheduled to hold at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, will focus on addressing emerging food safety concerns and strengthening consumer protection across Lagos State.
This year's edition is themed “From Burden to Solutions – Safe Food Everywhere,” with discussions expected to explore practical and sustainable approaches to food safety across production, processing, handling and distribution.
LASCOPA announced the conference in a statement shared on the Lagos State Government's official X page on Monday, inviting stakeholders and members of the public to register and participate.
Speaking ahead of the event, LASCOPA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Afolabi Solebo, said the annual conference had become an important platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders in the food ecosystem.
“The conference has evolved into an important platform where stakeholders exchange knowledge, showcase innovations and strengthen food safety systems,” Solebo said.
He called on policymakers, academics, food safety professionals, regulators, market associations, innovators, students and consumers to participate in discussions aimed at improving food safety practices across the state.
According to the agency, the conference will examine emerging risks associated with food production and distribution while identifying solutions that can help protect consumers and promote public health.
The event is expected to bring together key players across the food value chain as Lagos continues efforts to improve food safety standards and strengthen consumer awareness.
