International Breweries Names Nicholas Kade as New Managing Director
In a strategic leadership move, International Breweries Plc (IBPLC), part of the global brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), has appointed Nicholas Kade as its new Managing Director, effective March 1, 2026. Kade succeeds Carlos Coutino, who will be transitioning to another leadership role within the company.
Nicholas Kade brings over 15 years of commercial leadership experience across Africa, having driven growth, transformation, and performance excellence in complex, high-growth markets. Before this appointment, he served as IBPLC’s Sales Director, overseeing national sales strategy, commercial execution, and results delivery.
A graduate of Stellenbosch University with a bachelor’s and honors degree in business management and a Master’s of Commerce (with Distinction), Kade also holds a Postgraduate Programme in Business from GIBS Business School, University of Pretoria. His career at AB InBev began through its highly selective Graduate Management Trainee programme, giving him comprehensive exposure to end-to-end commercial leadership.
Over the years, Kade has held multiple Commercial Director roles in South Africa, leading sales strategy, revenue growth, route-to-market execution, and large, diverse teams. He is recognized for transforming customer experiences, implementing business enablement initiatives, and consistently delivering sustainable commercial results.
