AAAN Sets Agenda for Advertising’s Future at 53rd AGM
The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has announced plans for its 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), unveiling "ADvolution: The End of Advertising as We Know It and How to Win What Comes Next" as the theme for this year's gathering, which will examine how the industry can navigate disruption and unlock new growth opportunities.
Scheduled to hold on July 23 and 24, 2026, at the Providence Hotel, Lagos, the two-day conference will bring together agency executives, marketers, media professionals, creative leaders, technology experts and business decision-makers to discuss the evolving future of advertising in an increasingly digital and AI-driven marketplace.
Positioning the event as a call to action for the industry, AAAN described the theme as a challenge for practitioners to rethink traditional approaches to advertising and embrace innovation.
"This isn't just a theme. It's a challenge to rethink, reimagine, and redefine what's possible. The next chapter begins now. Welcome to ADvolution," the association said.
The conference will feature keynote presentations by Tomiwa Aladekomo, Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, and Dr. Meksley Nwaboh, Chief Marketing Officer of Fidelity Bank. Both speakers are expected to share insights on the changing relationship between media, technology, marketing and consumer behaviour, while exploring emerging opportunities for brands in a rapidly transforming communications landscape.
A major highlight of the event will be a high-level panel discussion featuring Damola Richard Salvador, Chief Executive Officer and Lead Strategist at digiSplash; Tobiloba Beckly Williams, Creative Director at 7even Interactive Limited; Olusegun Akinyemiju, Marketing Manager at Guinness Nigeria; and Rotimi Ade-Onajobi, Creative Director at Spice 360.
The session, moderated by Oyindamola Fakile, Creative Alchemist, will focus on how agencies and brands can adapt to changing consumer expectations, leverage artificial intelligence, harness emerging technologies and remain competitive in an increasingly data-driven economy.
Activities will begin on Thursday, July 23, with the AAAN Business Session at 12 noon, while the main conference will hold on Friday, July 24, featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions and strategic conversations on the future of the advertising industry.
The AGM will conclude with the Dinner and Award Night, where outstanding professionals and agencies will be recognised for excellence and contributions to Nigeria's marketing communications industry.
As one of the industry's flagship annual events, the AAAN AGM serves as a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on key issues affecting the advertising ecosystem, strengthen collaboration and shape the future direction of the profession.
With the theme "ADvolution" signalling a new era for advertising, this year's conference is expected to generate critical conversations on agency transformation, innovation, artificial intelligence, creativity and sustainable growth in a fast-changing business environment.
