The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Thelma Okoh as its new Registrar. The announcement was made during the Institute’s Annual General Meeting held yesterday, with her appointment set to take effect from July 1, 2025.
Okoh succeeds Ms. Patience Sado, who made history as the Institute’s first female Registrar. Her appointment marks a continuation of the Institute’s commitment to excellence and gender inclusion at the highest levels of professional leadership.
A seasoned public relations consultant and strategic communications expert, Thelma Okoh brings over a decade of hands-on experience in integrated marketing communications. She is the Chief Strategist and CEO of Winstarbel Communication Limited, with additional leadership roles across Winstarbel Press Enterprise, Winstarbel Investments Limited, and Harold Engineering House Limited.
Known for her goal-oriented, innovative, and visionary leadership, Okoh has consulted for both public and private sector clients including the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Tri-Continental (IBM/Lenovo distributors), DG Logistics, and the African Public Relations Association (APRA), among others.
Her professional journey began as a copywriter and has evolved into a career spanning crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, brand strategy, and media relations. She is currently a Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and previously served two terms as the General Secretary of its Lagos State Chapter , the first woman to do so.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Okoh is also a co-partner and Executive Director at DigiConverge, a digital convergence platform, and DigitalPR-Wire, a media monitoring and syndication service. She serves as Lagos Liaison Officer for the Nigerian Prize for Leadership and is Vice Chairman of the Local Planning Committee for the prestigious SERAs Awards.
Her passion for mentoring, leadership, and empowering women in communications is evident in her work with numerous associations, including as President of Lady Seals Association and Matron of Dynamics Charity Women Association, a nonprofit focused on reducing child mortality.
Okoh holds a B.Sc. in Public Relations and Advertising from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. She also possesses multiple certifications from Pan Atlantic University and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC, CMC), Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMA), and a member of several notable bodies including NIPR, APRA, IABC, CIPM, and ARCON.
With a proven track record of delivering results and a commitment to innovation, Thelma Okoh is poised to bring a fresh wave of strategic leadership to the NIMN, advancing its mission to elevate the marketing profession in Nigeria.
