Notable attendees included Mr. Idorenyen Enang, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Ms. Patience Sado, Registrar of NIMN, Mr. Dozie Okafor, Vice-President of the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) and Managing Director of PHD Media, Ms. Dolapo Otegbayi, Principal Consultant of DKO Consulting, and Mrs. Biodun Adefila, Former COO of SO&U, among other influential leaders in the industry.
The event commenced with a thought-provoking roundtable discussion themed “Audience Measurement System: Exploring the Prospects and Challenges in Media and Advertising.” Esteemed discussants Dozie Okafor and Dolapo Otegbayi conducted an in-depth analysis of the current state of Audience Measurement in Nigeria, shedding light on the existing challenges and prospects for improvement. With the impending launch of a new Audience Measurement System by the Federal Government expected in July this year, starting with Lagos, the economic hub of the country, the discussion delved into the anticipated impact and the necessity for effective stakeholder engagement to ensure its success.
Acknowledging the prevailing gaps and hurdles within the industry, the discussants voiced optimism regarding the forthcoming measurement system, emphasizing the imperative of robust stakeholder engagement to steer the process effectively for the benefit of the entire sector.
Subsequently, the launch of The Brand Colossus magazine ensued, accompanied by a thorough content review from Moses Mogbulu, a dedicated marketer. In her remarks, Oghale Abikele, Publisher and CEO of The Brand Colossus, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received and outlined the brand’s visionary mission.
