NAC 2023: Industry stalwarts arrive Abuja as Adetu, Akinwunmi and Onukwuba fireside chat, kickstart Conference today

The highly anticipated National Advertising Conference begins today, featuring a Fireside Chat involving three industry icons. Eminent personalities within the marketing and advertising sphere have already gathered in Abuja for the conference scheduled to run from the 6th to the 8th of December.

The yearly event, themed “Marketing Communications as an enabler for National Transformation,” takes place at the Bolton White Event Centre in Wuse, Abuja. It is set to host a multitude of industry experts, legends, and stalwarts from various segments of the Integrated Marketing Communications industry.

The Conference kicks off today with a Fireside chat featuring three distinguished industry icons: Seni Adetu, Managing Director of Algorithm Media; Lolu Akinwunmi, Group CEO of Prima Garnet Africa; and Ify Onukwuba, Managing Director of Nigeria Advertising Service. They will leverage their extensive experience to delve into discussions about the business and practice of advertising and marketing communications, providing valuable insights.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, December 7th, featuring a lineup of engaging and insightful discussions centered on the economy, the influence of advertising, and other compelling discourse topics.

Notably, the conference will introduce a new brand campaign intended to redefine the perception of Nigeria’s image. Additionally, there will be a comprehensive presentation highlighting the economic impact of advertising within the Nigerian economy.

The conference promises a diverse range of compelling topics, including discussions on Understanding the AFCTA and its implications for the IMC Industry, Emerging strategies to engage the ever-evolving consumer landscape, Scaling up Out of Home advertising for global competitiveness, Transforming Marketers into Nation-builders: Birthing New Nigerians, Growing Nigeria’s brands through meaningful experiences, The Nigerian Content Revolution, and Building Global brands from Nigeria, among several other engaging sessions.

Dr. Lekan Fadolapo, the Chief Host of this significant event and Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), highlighted that the Conference’s objective is to unite the three pillars of the industry – advertisers, agencies, and media – with the aim of fostering growth and development within the sector.

According to Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, Chairman of the Planning Committee and former President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN), the 2023 edition of the Conference aims to address essential insights gleaned from the 2022 edition. This focus aligns with the strategy to stimulate industry growth by facilitating meaningful conversations and engagements within the sector.
