The Federal Government as appointed renowned technology expert, Jane Egerton-Idehen as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited.
Speaking on her appointment, she said: In my new role, I will be working towards improving Nigeria’s satellite communications and digital infrastructure. With the country’s growing population and economy, it is crucial to have a robust and reliable communication network.
NIGCOMSAT has been at the forefront of providing satellite-based solutions for telecommunications, broadcasting, and broadband services. I am eager to lead this organization towards even greater heights and make a positive impact on the nation”.
Jane who has worked extensively within the tech industry was the Head of Sales, the Middle East and Africa, Meta (Facebook) after a successful career as the Country Manager, Nigeria, and the Regional Sales Director for the West African branch of Avanti Communications Group PLC, a British communication company with a fleet of satellites in space.
In her impressive career trajectory, she worked in various roles from Technical, Sales and Management in the Telecommunication Infrastructure giant Ericsson. She also worked as a Cluster lead for Nokia Siemens Network in West Africa.
With almost two decades of experience in the telecommunications sector, she has established a distinguished reputation through her extensive knowledge and professional expertise.
Her role is set to harness this wealth of experience to drive a transformative wave at NIGCOMSAT.
As a transformative leader, she has been actively involved in building connections and providing support to career women faced with common workplace and professional challenges.
Jane is an accomplished senior Fortune 500 technology executive, angel Investor, strategic advisor, and spokesperson. I help startups and businesses take their products/services to market, build and generate revenue, train and develop and build high performing sales teams.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, master’s degree from Warwick Business School in the UK. She received an executive education at both Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management in the United States.
