Maltina Teacher of the Year 2025 Opens with Bigger Prizes to Celebrate Nigeria’s Educators

It’s that time again when the spotlight turns to the unsung heroes shaping Nigeria’s future, teachers. The 2025 edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year award is officially open, and this year, Maltina is raising the bar to unprecedented heights in its mission to celebrate excellence in the classroom.

Now in its 11th edition, the award, powered by the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, continues to honor exceptional secondary school teachers across the country who go above and beyond to inspire learning, spark curiosity, and drive change in the lives of students.

At the heart of this year’s campaign is a record-breaking prize package that reflects the immense value teachers bring to national development.

‎The 2025 national winner will walk away with: ₦10 million in cash, an international training experience to expand global exposure, and a ₦30 million school infrastructure project to uplift their school community.

But that’s not all. Maltina has boosted the reward tiers for runners-up as well, making this year’s edition the most generous yet: ‎1st runner-up: Now ₦5 million while the ‎2nd runner-up: Now ₦3 million

‎Since its inception, the Maltina Teacher of the Year award has celebrated over 200 teachers from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT, providing them with resources, recognition, and a renewed sense of purpose.

‎The call is out to all qualified secondary school teachers across public and private institutions to apply.

Parents, students, and colleagues are also encouraged to tag or nominate inspiring educators who are making a difference in their classrooms and communities.

Maltina continues to affirm that teachers are not just instructors, they are influencers of destiny, guardians of potential, and spark plugs of national transformation.

‎The 2025 edition promises to be more than a competition, it’s a celebration of passion, purpose, and the power of one teacher to change many lives.
