Award-winning filmmaker, media executive, and celebrated storyteller Femi Odugbemi has officially unveiled BLACKBox, a cutting-edge creative hub set to transform the African storytelling landscape.
Located in the heart of Lekki, BLACKBox is designed as a dynamic space for nurturing talent, shaping narratives, and supporting creators across television, film, documentary, and branded content. With state-of-the-art facilities, the hub can host up to 50 participants for hands-on workshops, group breakouts, and collaborative roundtables.
“BLACKBox is more than just a space, it’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact,” said Odugbemi. “Our mission is to support creators not just in storytelling craft, but in developing authentic, innovative, and commercially viable content.”
The hub’s core offerings include project development consultancy, training intensives, masterclasses, and mentorship programs in scriptwriting, production design, directing, and audience engagement. Emerging and established creators will have access to guidance from concept to screen.
In a strategic move, Zuri24 Media, the acclaimed production company behind Battleground, Brethren, Covenant, and award-winning films Gidi Blues and The Man Died will now operate from BLACKBox, giving participants real-time exposure to professional productions.
By combining consultancy, high-level training, and active industry collaboration under one roof, BLACKBox is poised to become a vital driver in Nigeria’s creative economy, empowering a new generation of storytellers to take African narratives to the world.
