Fadolapo conferred highest status as ARCON inducts new Fellows

Dr. Olaleken Fadolapo, the Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), has received the highest professional honor within the industry. This prestigious title was also bestowed upon several other highly distinguished professionals whose remarkable expertise and contributions have significantly fueled the growth of Nigeria’s advertising industry.

Speaking during the investiture ceremony which held in Lagos, the Chairman of the Fellowship Selection Committee, Emmanuel Ajufo, disclosed that a team of seasoned professionals meticulously reviewed 45 applications, recommending 38 candidates for the prestigious title.

He emphasized the significance of the Fellowship, stating it’s granted to those who exhibit exemplary contributions and character in fostering the industry’s growth.

His words : “Our profession like many others, has different levels of membership. Fellowship of our profession is the highest status conferred on those who have been found to be fit and proper both in their contributions to the growth of the Advertising Profession and in character. It is based on the above that when the committee made up of some of the best from the various sectors of our profession was inaugurated. We diligently screened the applications received in line with the terms of reference. We received a total of five applications and 38 were recommended for conferment in with the procedures fellowship status. Unfortunately, we had 7 unsuccessful applicants”.

The newly inducted professionals, consists notable figures such as Kehinde Khadijat Kadiri, Olufolahan Adisa Onifade, Adetunji Adedayo Adeyinka, Okwudili Chris Ndibe, Ime Okon Inyang, Olushola Adeniyi Adegborioye, Ohifuerme David Akharume, Chinwike Onwuchekwa, Chinedu Ethel Igboeche, Maureen Aniekan Umanah, Michael Anike Mbanugo, Joe-Eugene Orji Onyenyili-Onuorah, Olalekan Olumuyiwa Fadolapo, Jude Okechukwu Emecheta, Sule Sule Ya’u, Lauratu Umar Abdulsalam, Chidindu Charity Ibiam, Evelyn Irepkitan Nwosu, Philip Adeyemi Adesanya, Samuel Bamidele Ayetutu, Michael Tunde Kajogbola, Yusuf Mu’azu, Nwanne Joseph Anasiudu, Abayomi Adedoyin Adewumi, Ibrahim Yusuf Yakasai, Adewale Adepitan, Bamijoko Okupe, Lawal Danladi Yaro, Biodun Olasunkanmi Ajiboye, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, Hauwa Margaret Nimyel, Okeoghene Solomon Akugha, Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo (HRM), Adetu Owoseni Dolapo, Umamah Aniekan John, Usman Faruk Umar, Akinbanjo Joshua Oluwasegun, Agama Emieseifa James.
Their impressive track records and unwavering commitment have earned them this symbolic recognition, denoting decades of experience and dedication to expanding the advertising profession.

These individuals, recognized as industry stalwarts of exceptional repute, possess stellar qualities and stand out in their respective fields within the expansive realm of marketing communications. Their resumes are adorned with iconic achievements and outstanding accomplishments, illuminating their academic and professional journeys with remarkable feats and significant contributions to the field.

The Fellowship title stands as a symbol, representing not just decades of experience but also an unyielding dedication to advancing the boundaries of the advertising profession. Welcoming the newly inducted individuals into the esteemed list of over a hundred Fellows of ARCON, they are entrusted with the responsibility of upholding professional excellence across all aspects while also serving as sources of inspiration for the upcoming generation within the industry.

The newly inductees will be officially admitted into the Body of Fellows at the 2023 National Advertising Conference billed to hold from December 6th to 8th in Abuja.

This fellowship represents not only a pinnacle achievement but also a responsibility for these individuals to uphold professional excellence and inspire future generations of advertising professionals. The criteria for this honor encompass stringent qualifications, extensive experience in marketing communications, significant contributions to the field, and a minimum of fifteen years of active engagement within the industry.

The event was well attended by an array of industry icons and personalities in the marketing communications industry such as Idorenyen Enang President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, (NIMN), Madam Tolulope Medebem, President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN); Sola Akinsiku, President of the Outdoor Association of Nigeria (OAAN); Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi, former APCON Registrar; Madam Olubunmi Oke, CEO/Lead consultant, Ladybird Advertising; and several other notable professionals.
