Diamond Legacy: Cadbury Nigeria Celebrates 60 Years of Nourishing Generations

Cadbury Nigeria Plc is celebrating a historic milestone,  60 years of operations in Nigeria, a journey that began on January 9, 1965, and has since grown into a story of nourishment, innovation, and shared prosperity.

Reflecting on the company’s legacy, Fredrick Mordi, Head of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs, noted:

“We have come a long way since we first started operations in Nigeria on January 9, 1965. For six decades, we have nourished lives, touched communities, and helped people achieve their dreams. As we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed consumers, business partners, shareholders, and stakeholders for being part of our success story. Here’s to the next 60 years!

The roots of Cadbury Nigeria trace back to the 1950s, when the business was established to source cocoa beans locally, serving as a foundation for introducing world-renowned Cadbury products into the Nigerian market.

Today, with a cocoa and butter processing plant in Ondo State and a manufacturing hub in Ikeja, Lagos, the company continues to drive its vision of nourishing Nigeria. Among its flagship products is Cadbury Bournvita, a household favorite endorsed by the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) for its rich blend of energy and micronutrients.

Cadbury Nigeria’s portfolio also boasts some of the country’s most iconic confectionery brands, including TOM TOM, the soothing candy trusted across generations; Trebor Buttermint; Cadbury Dairy Milk; Cadbury Hot Chocolate; and Clorets.

Headquartered in Ikeja, the company has remained a key player in Nigeria’s food and beverage industry, blending global standards with local pride while staying true to its heritage of quality and innovation.

As Cadbury Nigeria celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, it stands as a symbol of resilience and growth, committed to continuing its legacy of nourishing generations to come.
