Chams Plc, Nigeria’s pioneering identity and payments solutions provider, has unveiled its 40th Anniversary logo, marking four decades of innovation and transformation since its founding in 1985.
From powering landmark national projects such as the Bank Verification Number (BVN) for the Central Bank of Nigeria, the National Identification Number (NIN) for NIMC, SIM registration for NCC, INEC’s voter ID system, JAMB’s CBT exams, and FRSC’s driver’s license, Chams has remained at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure. The company also earned the Guinness World Record twice with its groundbreaking ChamsCity digital malls in Lagos and Abuja.
Now rebranding as ChamsCorp Plc, the Group is setting its sights on the next 40 years with a renewed focus on fintech and innovative digital services across Africa.
“The unveiling of our anniversary logo is more than a celebration of our past, it is a commitment to the future,” the company stated. “We remain dedicated to legacy, innovation, and impact as we evolve into an Africa-focused corporation.”
With four key subsidiaries; ChamsSwitch, ChamsMobile, Card Centre, and Chams Access, the Group is deepening its footprint in digital services. Its fintech arms, ChamsSwitch and ChamsMobile, are driving remittances, card processing, mobile money, and agent banking nationwide, supported by an extensive suite of regulatory licenses, including PSSP, Mobile Money Operator, Switching, PTSP, and Super-Agent licenses.
Listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 2008, Chams Plc holds the distinction of being the first computer technology company on the Exchange and the first home-grown firm recognized in the Guinness Book of Records.
As the Group transitions into ChamsCorp Plc, it has pledged to deliver significant growth and shareholder value, with fintech at the core of its expansion strategy.
