AAAN Prepares for BOT Overhaul as current Trustees bid farewell

The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) will soon announce a new Chairman and members of its Board of Trustees (BOT) following the expiration of the five-year tenure of some of its members. These esteemed advertising leaders have been pivotal in steering the association towards growth.

At a valedictory meeting held in Lagos, Mr. Steve Babaeko, President of AAAN, expressed deep gratitude for the outgoing Board members which comprise the Chairman, Sir Steve Omojafor, Executive Chairman of STB-McCann, Mrs. Bola Thomas, and Mr. Enyi Odigbo, Chairman of Casers Group.

Babaeko lauded their substantial impact and praised Sir Steve Omojafor for his exceptional leadership and guidance through challenging times.

He said “We have witnessed the conclusion of a remarkable era and the dawn of a new chapter. The Board of Trustees of our esteemed association convened, and with heartfelt gratitude, we bid farewell to Chairman Sir Steve Omojafor, whose unwavering leadership, wise counsel, and countless sacrifices guided us through turbulent times. On behalf of the Executive Board, I extend our sincere thanks to Sir Steve for his devoted service. Please do reach out to him to convey our deepest gratitude”.

Acknowledging the departure of Mr. Enyi Odigbo and expressing gratitude for the dedicated service of Mrs. Bola Thomas, the Association’s first female President, Babaeko commended their passion and unwavering dedication to the association. He extended heartfelt thanks for their invaluable contributions, recognizing the pivotal role each played in advancing the goals and success of the organization.

These outgoing Board members boast of an impeccable pedigree within the advertising and marketing communications industry, having served as Past Presidents of the advertising body. Their efforts have left an indelible mark on the 50-year-old association, standing as a testament to their commitment and leadership in the field.

The President is expected to announce a new Chairman and board members who will join Mr. Udeme Ufot, GMD of SO&U, and Akin Akinwunmi, GMD of Prima Garnet to provide advisory and mentorship for the leadership of the association as well as steer the association toward its future endeavors.
