EXMAN Takes 2026 AGM to Uyo, Targets Stronger Industry Collaboration and Professional Standards

The Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) has announced plans to host its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as the umbrella body seeks to deepen collaboration, strengthen professional standards and expand the reach of experiential marketing across Nigeria.

Scheduled for July 16 to 19, the four-day event will convene agency executives, brand managers, marketing professionals, academics and students under the theme, "Collaboration as Currency," to examine the future of experiential marketing amid rapid digital transformation and a challenging economic environment.

The association said this year's AGM underscores its role as the recognised sectoral body for experiential marketing under the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), while reinforcing its commitment to advancing professionalism, ethics and self-regulation within the marketing communications industry.

Chairman of the AGM Planning Committee, Agnes Ailuelohia, said collaboration has become indispensable to growth and innovation in today's interconnected business environment.

"In today's interconnected world, collaboration has become the currency of growth. No agency, institution or brand can thrive in isolation. The future belongs to those who build partnerships, share knowledge and create value together," she said.

Explaining the choice of venue, EXMAN's Publicity Secretary, Olayiwola Jegede, said hosting the AGM in Uyo reflects the association's commitment to national inclusion and equitable industry development across Nigeria's geopolitical zones.

According to him, taking the flagship event to the South-South region is intended to broaden industry participation beyond the traditional marketing hubs of Lagos and Abuja while creating opportunities for practitioners and agencies across the country.

A key feature of the AGM will be EXMAN's collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Government and the University of Uyo to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Jegede disclosed that structured industry-academia sessions will expose students to career opportunities in experiential marketing, brand experience design and consumer engagement.

More than 5,000 students and early-career professionals, designated as "Future Practitioners," are expected to participate in the engagement sessions, providing them with firsthand exposure to industry trends and professional development opportunities.

Another major highlight of the event will be the unveiling of EXMAN's State of the Industry Report, a comprehensive, data-driven assessment of trends, challenges and emerging opportunities within Nigeria's experiential marketing sector.

The AGM programme will also feature strategic discussions on regulation and professionalism, the induction of new member agencies, business networking sessions and stakeholder engagements designed to strengthen collaboration across the marketing ecosystem.

The meeting will culminate in The Adire Mix Masked Ball, EXMAN's signature social event celebrating creativity, culture and fellowship among member agencies.

The association expressed appreciation to the Akwa Ibom State Government, the University of Uyo, Ceedapeg Hotel, Ibom Air and other partners for supporting the event, noting that their collaboration reflects the central message of the AGM, that shared purpose creates greater value.

As Nigeria's umbrella body for experiential marketing agencies, EXMAN said it remains committed to promoting ethical practice, industry professionalism and effective self-regulation while advocating the sector's growing role in building brands, enhancing consumer engagement and contributing to the nation's marketing communications industry.
