Awesome Empowerment Foundation Trains First 70 Beneficiaries

Leadership and marketing executive, Dr. Omotola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi, has launched the Awesome Empowerment Foundation, a non-profit initiative aimed at equipping women and young people with practical vocational skills, entrepreneurial knowledge and the confidence to build sustainable livelihoods.

The foundation officially commenced operations with the induction of 70 beneficiaries into its inaugural cohort. Over the next three months, participants will receive intensive training in Fashion Design and Sewing as well as Baking and Culinary Arts, with the programme designed to foster economic independence through employable and income-generating skills.

The launch marks a significant milestone in Dr. Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi's long-standing commitment to personal transformation and community impact. For the past four years, she has championed conversations around authenticity, resilience and personal growth through her Imperfectly Awesome Conversations platform, creating a safe space for honest dialogue, healing and self-development. The Awesome Empowerment Foundation represents the next phase of that mission by translating inspiration into tangible economic empowerment.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi said the foundation was established to provide individuals with practical opportunities to transform their lives through skills acquisition, mentorship and enterprise development.

A seasoned commercial and strategic business leader, Dr. Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi brings more than two decades of executive experience across the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, having held senior leadership roles spanning the Middle East, East Africa and West Africa. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for driving business growth, marketing innovation and purpose-led initiatives within some of the world's leading multinational organisations.

Her accomplishments include leading Nigeria's first World Toilet Day campaign in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health to promote improved sanitation and strengthen public health awareness around diarrhoea and malaria prevention. She also led the launch of the first lager brand within a global beer portfolio, introduced the first brand extension for a globally recognised cream liqueur brand, and managed strategic snacking occasions across Sub-Saharan Africa for a leading international snack brand.

Beyond the corporate world, Dr. Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi serves as Chair of a Brand Advisory Board and is an Adjunct Lecturer, where she mentors emerging professionals in leadership, strategy and marketing. She is also the author of Imperfectly Awesome: Embracing and Becoming a Wholesome You, a book that explores authenticity, leadership and personal growth.

With the launch of the Awesome Empowerment Foundation, she is extending her impact beyond boardrooms and classrooms, creating a platform that empowers individuals with practical skills, entrepreneurial capacity and renewed hope for a more self-reliant future.

The foundation plans to expand its programmes in subsequent cohorts, reaching more underserved communities through vocational training, mentorship and enterprise support initiatives.
