2026 National Advertising Conference to Focus on Industry Readiness for Emerging Opportunities

Stakeholders in Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications industry will gather in Abuja from November 11 to 13, 2026, for the National Advertising Conference (NAC 2026), where discussions will centre on the industry's preparedness for emerging opportunities and challenges in a rapidly evolving business environment.

The annual industry gathering, themed “Repositioning the Marketing Communications Industry for the Next Frontier,” is expected to bring together advertisers, advertising agencies, media owners, regulators, technology innovators, journalists and business leaders from across the country.

Organisers said the conference aims to provide a platform for critical conversations on the future of marketing communications amid growing economic pressures, accelerating digital transformation, the rise of artificial intelligence and changing consumer expectations.

According to the organising committee, NAC 2026 will serve as a strategic forum for industry leaders to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends and identify collaborative pathways for sustainable growth, innovation and competitiveness.

The three-day conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, industry presentations and exhibitions focused on some of the most pressing issues shaping the sector. Discussions will examine the industry's readiness for the next frontier, the changing role of chief marketing officers, the preparedness of agencies for future disruptions, and the future of broadcast media and audience measurement systems in Nigeria.

Other key topics include the regulation of digital marketing and artificial intelligence, the role of advertising within Nigeria’s growing creative economy, and the future of awards and recognition programmes in the marketing communications industry.

A distinguished lineup of speakers has been confirmed for the event, including Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy; Olu Akanmu, former Chief Executive Officer of Opay and Executive in Residence at Lagos Business School; Idemudia Dima Okojie, Marketing Director for West Africa at Mastercard; Patrick Gomes, Chief Operating Officer of FMEIL; Tony Agenmonmen, Chief Executive Officer of OE&E Consult; and Obi Asika, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture.

Organisers said additional industry leaders and experts from Nigeria and beyond are expected to participate in discussions aimed at shaping the future direction of the marketing communications sector.

Beyond the conference sessions, NAC 2026 will also feature exhibition booths and interactive showcases highlighting innovations, creative solutions and emerging technologies driving transformation across Nigeria’s advertising and communications landscape.

Industry observers say the conference comes at a pivotal moment as stakeholders seek to adapt to technological disruption, evolving consumer behaviour and new opportunities within the digital economy.
